DART is your free ride to all things festive this New Year’s Eve. That’s because Coors Light Free Rides are back, giving you free rides on DART from 6 p.m. until the end of service Dec. 31.

Ride free on all DART buses, trains, paratransit services and the Trinity Railway Express between Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. You don’t need a pass to ride. DART will also extend rail service, too, with all four lines running until at least 2 a.m.

Need inspiration to help you count down the clock? Check out these DARTable New Year’s Eve events:

NYE Party on the Plaza (Dallas City Hall). Head to Dallas’ signature NYE event to enjoy food trucks, drinks, live entertainment, and “Over the Top” fireworks at Reunion Tower. To get there, take any DART Rail line to Akard Station and walk a few blocks south.

Dallas NYE Ball (Crowne Plaza Hotel in Downtown Dallas). This party features three ballrooms, each with its own musical genre, countdown and entrance. Take any DART Rail line to West End Station.

NYE on Cloud Nine (Five Sixty at Reunion Tower). Ring in the New Year by feasting on an assortment of appetizers and desserts, dancing to the upbeat tunes of a DJ, enjoying extensive cocktail offerings, and watching fireworks from the best seats in town. Take the Red or Blue line to Union Station.

Trinity Hall Irish Pub (Mockingbird Station). This is two parties in one. The family-friendly afternoon celebration starts at 2:30 p.m., with Irish singalongs, party favors, and a countdown at 6 p.m. (that’s midnight in Dublin). The late-night celebration starts at 7:30 p.m. and includes dinner, live music and a traditional countdown. Take the Red, Blue or Orange lines to Mockingbird Station. (Note: Coors Light Free Rides begin at 6 p.m. Before that, you’ll need a ticket.)

The Color of Death! is an intriguing way to pre-game for the midnight countdown. The play’s first act is in Living Black & White and its second is in living color. Harry Hunsacker is a wannabe actor turned private detective. He and his assistant Nigel Grouse are enlisted by the Army to go undercover and infiltrate a top-secret Nazi research lab in Bavaria. They quickly discover the Nazis have a game-changing weapon they are about to unleash. Catch the campy thriller at the Eisemann Center, just across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.

These are only a few DARTable New Year’s Eve events around town. Letting DART be your ride is the best way to celebrate responsibly as you bid farewell to 2019 and welcome 2020 on board.
