DART is shining a spotlight on some of our top employees during Women's History Month. This is a time to celebrate all the people working to move DART forward – at an agency where women are empowered to drive change.

"When I started here, I would be in meetings where I was the only woman. And then DART formed a Women in Leadership group. That group brought women together and I think helped pave the way for a lot of what you see here today which is a lot of women in leadership roles." – Kay Shelton, VP of Capital Planning.

"Leadership development and the initiatives that support women in the workplace are numerous here at DART. When you have those women in those positions, it’s a tremendous networking source and you can reach out to them at any time and they provide that encouragement and support that you need to further your own career." – Julia Casarez, Assistant VP & Chief Administrative Officer, Trinity Railway Express

"The safety industry has always been a male dominated industry. I was the lone female in the department for 15 years. When I became the director, I found the opportunity to bring more women into the department and expose them not only to transit but expose them to safety, as well." – Donna Johnson, VP and Chief Safety Officer.

"I think as a woman, we have a lot of challenges. We need to come into work every day but we don't finish when we leave work. When we go home we continue the second part of our job. DART is giving me the opportunity to work here even as a full-time employee and at the same time going back home and continue my role as a mom." – Carmen Hillebrand, Advertising and Media Supervisor.
