Could you go 30 days without using your car? Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Denton County Transportation Authority and Lyft issued a car challenge in September and now 50 North Texans are giving it a try.

Between Oct. 8 and Nov. 6, these challenge participants will “ditch their cars,” and instead get around town on public transit, Lyft and Zipcar. All participants have received a transportation credit of nearly $600.

“As people continue to move into our region and congested traffic becomes more of a reality, DART looks forward to partnering with Lyft on creative solutions that promote individual mobility giving people a reason to get out of their personal vehicles,” said Nevin Grinnell, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, DART.

DART and DCTA will issue participants a local monthly pass via the new GoPass® mobile app. The app is free and available in either the App Store or Google Play store.
