Faces of DART is all about showcasing the many North Texans who make our region special.  Today, we’re taking a closer look at Kendrick Brown’s story to see how public transportation helps veterans and other North Texans access the critical health care services they need.
The VA North Texas Health Care System helps deliver vital services to more than 120,000 veterans in our region. As Kendrick’s story makes perfectly clear, public transit is an absolute essential in fulfilling their mission to treat our nation’s military veterans with high-quality, comprehensive health care. In order to access the services North Texas veterans need, many rely on DART’s rail and other transit services provide easy, efficient access to the VA and other health care centers and facilities.  With the ability to use easy and efficient transit, veterans can get to their appointments in a timely manner or receive the treatments they need to thrive. Not only that, it gives volunteers, visitors, and staff more flexible transit options to travel to and from the VA’s facilities in downtown Dallas. More than just increasing mobility, DART is helping support and strengthen health care for veterans and other patients across North Texas. That’s the power of transit. What’s your transit story?
