We’re thankful for our front-line employees and their dedication to keep us moving. Meet Norma Carter, DART Bus Operator.

A note from Norma:

My name is Norma Carter and this November marks my 30th year as a Bus Operator. I love what I do because, it gives me the opportunity to help others and brighten their day. Whenever I can put a smile on someone's face, by my deeds and actions, then I know God is pleased.

In a typical day as a DART Bus Operator, I fulfill many tasks. I begin my day with prayer to God for his guidance and protection. Afterward, I inspect my bus before pullout, making sure it’s operating in a safe manner. Once in service, I perform many customer service duties: assisting passengers with wheelchairs, walkers and strollers and providing route and time points information.

Through all our fear, pain, sorrow and loss, we must remember trouble won’t be here every day, even though sometimes it seems it just won’t go away. After you’ve done all that you know how, just to keep from breaking down, believe it’s going to get better after a while. Keep looking to the hills from whence cometh our help, because all our help cometh from The Lord!
