Reminder: In observance of Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, DART will follow a Sunday schedule and the TRE will not operate. More info. • Ride the DART Rail Blue Line to Downtown Rowlett Station, then a short walk to Main Street for the Rowlett Memorial Day Ceremony featuring Touch-A-Truck Saturday, May 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. The City of Rowlett comes together to honor the brave men and women who dedicated their lives to preserving our freedom. Citizens, friends and family meet at Veteran's Park at 10:00 a.m. to pay homage to our fallen soldiers. This special day continues with Touch-A-Truck, a fun and educational opportunity for children of all ages to touch, climb on and explore over 25 trucks lined up and down Main Street. Information: www.rowlett.com. • Ride the DART Rail Red LineBlue Line, or Orange Line to Cityplace/Uptown Station for Dallas' first large scale Ciclovía in Uptown from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 26, 2014! Together with the Metropolitan Dallas YMCA, Uptown will host a one-mile, car-free route to connect the Katy Trail to the Klyde Warren Park via Cedar Springs Road. Ciclovías, translated as "bicycle path," and also known as Open Streets in the United States, are one-of-a-kind, free events that bring a City together to enjoy all things outdoors - running, biking, roller-skating, strollers, etc. Information: www.facebook.com/UptownCiclovia. Find more events like the Super Freestyle Explosion Tour and the Thai Culture & Food Festival on our Rider Insider Online Calendar or in the brochures found on DART light rail vehicles or buses.
