Rider Insider Find things to do this weekend in Dallas-Fort Worth

• Ride the D-Link (Route 722) or DART Rail Red Line, Blue Line, Green Line or Orange Line to Akard Station, then an approximately 1/2 mile walk on Field Street for the final weekend of The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes at the Perot Museum. There's nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact - it may be "elementary" for Sherlock Holmes, but how will you fare when you try to solve a captivating, original murder mystery in the tradition of the master detective? The legendary sleuth of Baker Street, a chemistry and forensics expert ahead of his time, used seemingly trivial observations of evidence that others missed to solve the most baffling mysteries imaginable. His practices and techniques changed the way police work was conducted in the real world, lighting the way to the modern forensics of today. The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is located at 2201 N. Field St. Information: www.perotmuseum.org. • Ride the DART Rail Green Line to Fair Park Station or MLK, Jr. Station Friday for Fair Park Sparks. Performances by Vanilla Ice and Sister Hazel headline the main stage entertainment. Free to the public, Fair Park Sparks! will feature live music, "dancing water" shows at the Esplanade Fountain, roving entertainers, concessions, food trucks, craft beer & wine bar, and vendor booths. Other stage entertainment features popular local bands. The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display. A large children's activities area sponsored by Earth Day Texas will include face painting, games, arts, crafts and the ever-popular zip line. Information: www.fairpark.org. Find more events like Downtown Garland Cinco de Mayo or Homegrown Music and Arts Festival on our Rider Insider Online Calendar or in the brochures found on DART light rail vehicles or buses.
