• Ride the DART Rail Green Line or Orange Line to Victory Station Saturday for The 2014 Greater Dallas Walk to End Alzheimer's. It's part of the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. The Dallas walk begins with registration at 7:00 a.m. followed by the opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m. and the walk at 9:00 a.m. The route is a 5K that begins at the AT&T Plaza at American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Ave. There is no fee to register and each walker who raises $100 or more is eligible to receive one Walk t-shirt. Information: act.alz.org. • Ride the DART Rail Red Line, Blue Line, Green Line or Orange Line to St. Paul Station for SMOKED DALLAS at Main Street Garden. The daylong "deliciously curated music and BBQ festival" featuring some of the state's best and best-known slow-cookers and music-makers. On the menu, so far: Black's Barbecue, Fort Worth's own Cousin's Bar-B-Q, Hutchins BBQ, Lockhart Smokehouse, Schmidt Family Barbecue, and Stanley's Famous Pit Barbecue. Also on hand: Kent Rathbun and Jennie Kelley and Ben Starr. Live music from Bob Schneider, Black Joe Lewis, The Tontons, and Lost Coyote. Main Street Garden is located at 1902 Main St. Tastings start at 2:00 p.m. and the bands begin to play at 2:30 p.m. Information: smokeddallas.com.
