When severe winter weather strikes, the more you know about your train or bus, the better prepared you’ll be to travel. Here are the ways DART provides critical information when you need it.
Electronic Subscription Service
DART offers a free electronic subscription service called My DART Updates for you to receive automatic email or SMS text message notifications about service updates and changes. Stay in the know this winter and sign up to receive these notifications on a variety of topics, such as:
To subscribe, visit DART.org/email and register your email address or mobile phone number, then select the categories in which you wish to receive up-to-date notifications. You can change or cancel your subscription at any time.
Websites and Social Media
You also can view our rider alerts on DART.org as well as follow @DARTAlerts on Twitter to receive service updates. When we know that one of our winter weather scenarios is necessary, we’ll place notices on DART.org as well as send them to local media outlets 6-8 hours prior to start of service on the day of implementation.
In addition, you can view relevant news and updates when you follow @DARTmedia on Twitter, @DARTDallas on Facebook, @DARTDaily on Instagram, @DARTDallas on YouTube and subscribe to our blog, DART Daily.
Interactive Digital Kiosks
DART launched the first of its interactive kiosks in early 2020. In the event of severe winter weather, the kiosks will provide real-time transit information and alerts.
Mobile Apps
DART’s GoPass app allows you to track buses and trains in real-time. Download the app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
If you need to report an issue, take advantage of the free DART Say Something safety and security app. With this app, you can discreetly communicate with DART Police and send them photos, videos, text descriptions and your location. You can also download this app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
