If you are still looking for last minute ways to spend a summer staycation, look no further. DART has got you covered! There are plenty of DARTable options to choose from.

Fun and Games
Let the good times roll! Bowl and Barrel is a modern bowling experience near Park Lane Station on the Orange and Red Lines. Richardson’s Shadow Lan Gaming is right along Bus Route 241. Garland’s Infinity Arcade is a short walk from the Blue Line's Downtown Garland Station and features all your old-school favorites.

Evenings on the lawn
Relaxing on the grass is a great way to welcome fall weather. Klyde Warren Park has free movies on Aug. 19, Sept. 2, and Oct. 28. Get there on the M-Line trolley. Irving’s Movies on Main happen Fridays in September, a couple blocks from Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station accessed by the Trinity Railway Express (TRE). Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, on Bus Route 214, hosts concerts Thursdays Sept. 7-Oct. 26. The Green Line's Downtown Carrollton shows a free movie on its square, near Downtown Carrollton Station, Sept. 9. And Farmers Branch hosts a free Denton Drive Live concert at The Grove at Mustang Station, next to the Green Line's Farmers Branch Station, Sept. 11.

Fort Worth
Cowtown gives you a taste of Western heritage. Sundance Square is a popular historic district, as is the Fort Worth Stockyards. The city has great museums, too, plus an excellent botanical garden and first-rate zoo. It’s all a TRE ride away.

Denton
When you can’t make it to Austin, there’s Denton – North Texas’ own college town full of creative energy. Check out arts venues and laid-back cafés on the square or take in the city’s impressive live music scene. Get there by taking Denton Country Transportation Authority’s A-train between DART’s Trinity Mills Station and Downtown Denton Transit Center.

Historical downtowns
The DART Service Area is full of revitalized downtowns with restaurants, homegrown shops, and colorful boutiques. You’ll find them adjacent to these rail stations:

  • Downtown Plano Station on the Red Line
  • Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line
  • Downtown Carrollton Station on the Green Line
  • Downtown Rowlett Station on the Blue Line
  • Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE)

McKinney Avenue Trolley
An essential Dallas experience is taking a vintage trolley ride through the heart of Uptown Dallas, Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Arts District. You can board at Cityplace/Uptown Station on the Red, Blue, and Orange Line or in downtown Dallas near St. Paul Station on all four rail lines.

Health and wellness
DART can help you burn off a few calories – or get you to places that will. Fit Social Club and Trophy Fitness are both right at SMU/Mockingbird Station on the Red, Blue, and Orange Lines. You can also get to numerous YMCA facilities on DART. The Richardson YMCA is near Arapaho Center Station on the Red and Orange Lines (and even closer to Bus Route 238); and the T. Boone Pickens YMCA in downtown Dallas is easily walkable from Akard Station on all four rail lines.

Spa day
Melt the stress away at Pure Spa, steps from SMU/Mockingbird Station on the Red, Orange, and Blue Lines. In Plano, Spa Habitat is within walking distance of Downtown Plano Station on the Red Line. And for the full-on, Korean spa experience, hit King Spa, which is within the Northwest Dallas GoLink zone.

Travel
If your plans for the summer include an airplane, you’re in luck. You can make transit the first leg of your journey and avoid the expense of parking, since both DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field are served by DART.
