As we look back on DART's 40-year history, we celebrate both our early years and our more recent accomplishments.

On June 7, 1999, Addison's first permanent DART facility – the Addison Transit Center – opened. Located on Arapaho Road between Quorum Drive and Addison Road, the transit center is in the heart of the Addison Urban Center.

On Jan. 14, 2019, DART officials and Addison dignitaries’ broke ground on the Silver Line Regional rail project. In anticipation of revenue rail service in 2024, Addison officials in 2022 selected a developer for the nearly $500 million transit-oriented development project that will incorporate the Addison Transit Center and the future rail station. Plans for the 18-acre development include a mix of residential, corporate offices, boutique hotels, a grocery store, restaurants, and retail. The new development will be connected to a broader, 300-acre walkable urban district.
