As we look back on DART's 40-year history, we celebrate both our early years and our more recent accomplishments.

Richardson was the first city outside of Dallas to welcome DART Light Rail into its city limits. In summer 2002, DART opened three Richardson stations: Spring Valley, Arapaho Center, and Galatyn Park. The trains reached Bush Turnpike Station (now CityLine/Bush) in July 2002.

Today, Richardson has four light rail stations, 11 bus routes and two GoLink zones. Soon, Richardson will also be served by DART’s Silver Line, with stations at the existing CityLine/Bush Station and a new stop at UT Dallas. Since rail service opened in Richardson more than 20 years ago, DART has been a key part of Richardson’s economic development strategy, including one of the more recent transit-oriented development projects at CityLine/Bush Station. The CityLine development is anchored by the State Farm regional office and includes several apartment communities, a shopping center, restaurants, office space, and a hotel.
