Earlier this month, shortly after 6 a.m., bus operator Cynthia Rayford noticed two children in diapers walking alone on Technology Boulevard and there was no adult in sight. Ms. Rayford jumped into action to remove the children from the middle of the street. She notified Bus Dispatch of the situation and requested DART Police assistance. Rayford remained onsite until DART Police arrived.
This story illustrates the wide range of skills required of our bus operators, rail operators, and other frontline staff. Many DART staff respond to the call to help others daily.
Cynthia Rayford’s alertness, quick action, and safe driving helped protect the lives of two toddlers and kept them from potential harm and danger. She demonstrated DART’s commitment to safeguarding the safety and security of those in our community and to providing 5 Star Service.
