May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and DART helps you celebrate by taking you to these DARTable events.

ATT Discovery District AAPI CelebrationThe AT&T Discovery District is hosting AAPI Celebrations on May 6 at 11 a.m. Dive into the rich and diverse cultures of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander heritage at the AT&T Discovery District! Join the AT&T Discover District on Saturday for their 2nd annual celebration filled with fascinating performances, delicious food specials, and an eclectic mix of beats by our live DJ. The AT&T Discovery District is a short walk down Akard Street from Akard Station on all four light rail lines.

Plano AsiaFest 2023 returns to the Downtown Plano Arts District. This event celebrates the many cultures of Asia with numerous cultural demonstrations, performances, food, and more. Learn about Asian languages, food and martial arts. Check out the flowing robes, traditional costumes and colorful saris at the Asia Fashion Show. There’s all that and more on Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Haggard Park. That’s next to Downtown Plano Station on the Red Line.

Family Weekends AAPI Celebration is a free party in Sammons Park on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The celebration includes Asian food trucks, vendors, local artists, musical and dance performances, and cultural demonstrations. The park is in the heart of the Dallas Arts District, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines. It’s a block from the M-Line trolley.

Fusion celebrates Irving's many cultures with music, dance and food. Take in various eclectic live performances, enjoy a tasty treat from an array of food vendors, grab a beautiful henna tattoo or dance to live music. Fusion happens Saturday, May 20, from noon to 6 p.m. at Heritage Park. The celebration is a short walk from Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE). You can also get there on Bus Routes 25, 225, and 230.

KRIO x ASIANGRUB AAPI Heritage Month Block Party is bringing epic flavors, music, and culture to the Bishop Arts District! This event will feature 30 curated, local food vendors on top of a lot of family friendly activities and performances. Catch the party on Saturday, May 27 at Krio restaurant, located next to Bishop Arts Station on the Dallas Streetcar line. You can also take Bus Route 226 Clarendon from 8th & Corinth Station.

Japan Form And Function - The Montgomery CollectionCrow Museum of Asian Art honors Asian heritage all year long with a wide-ranging collection that includes a large number of jade objects from the Qing dynasty. Also don’t miss Japan, Form & Function: The Montgomery Collection, a landmark exhibition of more than 240 works of Japanese folk art. You’ll see metalware, textiles, ceramics, wooden sculptures, lacquerware and paintings. The Crow Collection is walkable from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines, and is only a block from the M-Line trolley.
