There are lots of DARTable theater openings this weekend, plus snow-tubing. Yep, you read that right! Keep reading to find out where DART can take you.

Friday, Feb 16-Sunday, Feb. 18

Bonnie and Clyde, A New Musical tells the story of two kids from Texas who became outlaws and unlikely folk heroes. The story of love, adventure and crime features a top-notch musical score. Experience the performance at the Courtyard Theater, right across Haggard Park from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.


Friday, Feb. 16

Moon Over Buffalo follows a theatrical couple on tour in Buffalo in 1953. They receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee. Catch the Company of Rowlett Performers’ production through Feb. 25 at Garland’s Plaza Theatre. The venue is walkable from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

Ann is a no-holds-barred portrait of Ann Richards, the legendary governor of Texas. This inspiring and hilarious new play brings us face to face with a complex, colorful and captivating character bigger than the state from which she hailed. The play takes a revealing look at a woman who was complex, colorful and larger than life. See the performance through Feb. 25 at WaterTower Theatre. The venue is walkable from Addison Transit Center – served by DART Bus Routes 22, 200, 202, 227, 229, 235, 236, 237, 238, 239, 240, and 305.

The Sound of (Black) Music reimagines the musical classic through an African American lens. The score blends elements of jazz, soul, funk, and hip-hop, and celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Black music. Catch the must-see production at the Eisemann Center, just across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.

Saturday, Feb. 17

Frost Fest brings cold-weather fun to Irving. The free winter festival features tons of fluffy snow, with snow-tubing hills and lots of other family-friendly fun. There are bounce houses, free train rides, crafts, food vendors and much more. The event takes place in the Levy Event Plaza, walkable from Las Colinas Urban Center Station on the Orange Line.

Flea Harveys - Photo Courtesy of FacebookFlea Harvey’s is a monthly pop-up market at Lee Harvey’s featuring over 17 local vendors selling vinyl, vintage clothes, art, and more. A DJ is on hand to supply the tunes, and Lee Harvey's serves breakfast tacos and mimosas till 2 p.m. You can walk to the flea market from Cedars Station on the Red and Blue Lines.

La Celestina: Tragicomedia De Lita is a Spanish-language performance of a classic work by Fernando de Rojas. The central character must hold, with only her hands, a piece of scenery that has fallen on top of her. See Teatro Dallas production at the Latino Cultural Center, a quick walk from the Green Line’s Deep Ellum Station.
