DanceAfrica is Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s 19th annual iteration of the festival. Themed “Voices of the Drum: Echoes of Unity,” this year’s celebration highlights the connection between music, dance, and community. In addition to the evening performances at Moody Performance Hall, there will be a free family-friendly outdoor festival and marketplace at Klyde Warren Park on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The venue and the park are both walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.

Hazards is an absorbing dance-theater performance by Artists Sans Frontières. Combining choreographed vignettes with dynamic visual projection and cinematic music, the production immerses the audience in the harrowing journeys of forcibly displaced refugees and asylum seekers. DFW Italian Festival celebrates the heritage and culture of Italy. Expect plenty of Italian food, wine tastings, stage performances, a bocce tournament, an Italian car show, and more. There will even be a performance by The Dallas Opera. Enjoy it all at Las Colinas’ Levy Events Plaza, near Las Colinas Urban Center Station on the Orange Line.

Peter White and Vincent Ingala give you a night of jazz under the stars at the Dallas Zoo. Presented by Bishop Arts Center Theatre, the event is served by the Red Line’s Dallas Zoo Station.
