We! Illuminating Diversity Concert is the Oak Lawn band’s annual fall symphonic concert, featuring selections that celebrate diverse groups coming together for the common good. There are songs that commemorate the Stonewall Riots in New York City, MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and other pivotal events. See the performance at the Latino Cultural Center, just down the street from Deep Ellum Station on the Green Line.

Denton’s Day of the Dead Festival captures the eclectic spirit of the art and music community in Denton. The festival includes Denton’s original Halloween Cabaret “Cirque du Horror,” as well as Denton’s very own Coffin Races and a lantern-lit twilight parade. The festival takes place on Hickory Street between Industrial Street and the square. To get there, take the Green Line to Trinity Mills Station and transfer to the DCTA A-train. Get off at Downtown Denton Transit Center, and you’re only a couple of blocks from the festival. NOTE: The A-train does not operate on Sundays.

Saturday, Oct. 26

Rest in Plano (RIP) Fest is a spooky celebration in McCall Plaza with entertainment, music, food, drink and more! The festival takes place from 5 to 10:30 p.m. McCall Plaza is just one block away from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Thee Sacred Souls comes to Dallas in support of their new album, Got a Story to Tell. See the San Diego-based soul trio at Southside Ballroom, a short walk from Cedars Station on the Red and Blue lines.
