Outdoor markets, indoor performances, hip-hop dance battles and a beer festival are all in store for this sunny weekend, and they are all DARTable.

Friday, Nov. 12

CityLine Night Market is a great way to support local craftspeople and small businesses. More than 25 vendors ply their handmade and vintage wares, and live music rounds out the experience. The walkable mixed-use Richardson neighborhood has plenty of dining options, as well. It’s all a few steps from CityLine/Bush Station on the Red Line.

Uptown Night Market is another cool evening event with more than 25 local artisans, as well as excellent food, live music, lawn games, and abundant seating. Bubble Bus Co. is even providing complimentary drinks. Knock out some early holiday shopping with handmade jewelry, accessories, home goods, art, candles, soaps, and a lot more. The event happens from 5-9 p.m. at the McKinney & Olive building located at the northwest corner of McKinney Avenue and Olive Street. You can get there on the M-Line.

Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13

Big Texas Beer Fest features more than 100 beers from over 100 breweries around the world. There also are food trucks, local artisanal food vendors, and live music. You’ll find beer-nerd nirvana at the Fair Park Automobile Building and the adjacent outdoor pavilion. The festival is a 2-day affair, but your tickets are ONLY VALID for Friday OR Saturday, depending which ticket you buy. Get there by taking the Green Line to Fair Park Station.

Saturday, Nov. 13

The Diviners is a play about Buddy Layman, an unusual boy scarred by losing his mother in an incident where he nearly drowned. He gains the strange power of divining – finding water with just a forked stick, but he’s afraid of water. The arrival in town of a disenchanted preacher sets in motion a series of shocking events. See the production by Outcry Youth Theatre at the Addison Conference and Theatre Centre. The theater is a short walk from Addison Transit Center, which is served by numerous bus lines.

Urban Market Pop-Up Market specializes in farm-fresh foods, and also features an array of repurposed and handcrafted goods. The market takes place in the heart of Downtown Garland, which is a few blocks walk from the Blue Line’s Downtown Garland Station.

Urban Movement Festival brings the culture of hip-hop to the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District. The free all-ages family-friendly event features 2-versus-2 dance battles, dance team showcases, and much more. Check out competitors from all over the state (and beyond) at McCall Plaza, located on 15th Street near the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Sunday, Nov. 14

Wind Band Classics and the Texas Saxophone Quartet is a treat for lovers of classic wind band music. The Plano Community Band takes the stage at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts at 2:30 p.m. with a free concert that blends woodwinds, saxophones and percussion. The venue is right across the plaza from Galatyn Park Station on the Red Line.
