It’s a weekend of DARTable live performances. Check out where DART can take you.
Friday, July 12
Reggae/pop group Iration and reggae rock group Pepper co-headline at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. The venue is walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line. You can also take Bus Route 227.
Joyce Maynard comes to the DMA Arts & Letters Lives series to talk about her new book, How the Light Gets In. The Dallas Museum of Arts is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.
The Little Mermaid is the Dallas Theater Center’s “public works” version of the classic Disney musical uniquely created for the people of Dallas, with the people of Dallas, and by the people of Dallas. See the performance through Aug. 4 at Wyly Theatre – walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.
Herbbits, Wizards, and Borks… Oh My! is the latest of Pocket Sandwich Theatre's popcorn-tossing comedies. The play follows a brave, but incompetent, band of wizards, elves, and “Herbbits.” The fantasy spoof runs through Aug. 24. The theater is walkable from the Green Line’s Downtown Carrollton Station.
Late Night Catechism is a funny evening of theater in which an irrepressible nun teaches class to a roomful of "students." Good students are rewarded with prizes, while naughty ones may find themselves on stage sitting in a corner. Experience it through July 28 at the Eisemann Center, right across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.
Sunday, July 14
Basically Beethoven Festival 2024 returns as the splendid summer series. There are three free chamber music concerts featuring Dallas’ top musicians as well as rising stars. This Sunday's performance is dubbed “Back to Basically.” Don’t miss the performances at Moody Performance Hall, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or the M-Line Trolley.
