My Son the Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy tells the story of an actor and comedian who worked as a waiter for three decades while pursuing an acting career – and his long-suffering parents. The tale of grit and passion opens tonight and plays on select dates through July 30 at the Eisemann Center. The venue is right across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.

Band Together on the Square is a diverse, free concert series that happens every Friday evening in Downtown Garland through July. Friday night, Jimmy Wallace brings his electrifying rock and R&B guitar to town. Get to the Square by taking the Blue Line to Downtown Garland Station.
KXT 91.7 Summer Concert Series features performances from local and national acts at Klyde Warren Park, with food trucks and beverages available. This Friday night, check out Jacob Metcalf and Honin. The M-Line Trolley stops right at the park; you can also walk there from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines.
The I Love the '90s Tour brings back that decade with performances by '90s icons Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, All-4-One, 2 Live Crew, and Tone Loc. Catch the performances at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line. You can also take Bus Route 227.

Saturdays on the Square is a family-friendly, monthly event in Historic Downtown Carrollton from 6-8 p.m. This month, the theme is “Christmas in July.” Expect festive crafts, a human snow globe, and even a special appearance from summertime Santa. The festivities are all walkable from the Green Line’s Downtown Carrollton Station.
Fest O' Theatre is the only Bengali theater festival in North Texas. The lineup of plays includes a dance drama from DFW Play, a farcical play from Ebong Theatrix (DC), a social comedy from BAAT (San Francisco) and a serious drama from Youth Theater. See it at Moody Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District. The performance hall is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or the M-Line Trolley.

The 2023 Basically Beethoven Festival is the return of Fine Arts Chamber Players’ splendid summer series. There are four free chamber music concerts featuring Dallas’ top musicians as well as rising stars. The theme of this installment of the 42-year-old festival is “Music with Friends”; Sunday's performance is dubbed “Animals & Americana.” Don’t miss the performances at Moody Performance Hall, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or the M-Line Trolley.
