The rest of DART’s bus fleet is fueled with compressed natural gas. CNG-fueled buses produce up to 90% less nitrogen oxide (NOx), a greenhouse gas, than diesel-powered engines.

Our newest CNG buses – built by New Flyer of America Inc. – were purchased last year so that DART could operate straighter, more direct bus routes, which reduce vehicle emissions by speeding up trips. These New Flyer vehicles have upgrades like USB charging stations, vinyl-covered seats and larger INFOtransit monitors.
