Construction is underway on the Silver Line Regional Rail project, which is scheduled to open in early 2023.

DART and prime contractor Archer Western Herzog celebrated the start of concrete work in mid-December with a first pour ceremony near the site of the future Knoll Trail Station in Dallas.

The Walsh Group – the parent company of Archer Western – shared their tradition of embedding a Miraculous Medal into the first batch of concrete at the beginning of every project. The medal conveys the company’s belief that the safety and security of workers is paramount, and the ceremony is meant to inspire the workers to finish the job safely.

As part of the Silver Line project, contractors will construct sound barrier walls along the rail corridor to prevent noise and visual impacts.

You can view mock-ups of the sound barrier walls in six cities along the Silver Line through Sunday, Feb. 28. The wall samples located at each municipal site reflect the colors and finishes selected by that community. View a complete list of mock-up locations at DART.org/SilverLine.
