You can spend the value that is currently on their GoPass Tap card.

After Feb. 25, you will not be able to add money to their old GoPass Tap card at any retail stores until the new network is in place.
GoPass Tap card users will have a new retail network for purchasing and reloading their tap cards at a date we are still determining. Likewise, DART is rolling out new GoPass Tap cards that will work on the new retail network.
Riders who use GoPass Tap, Discount GoPass Tap, or a reduced-fare (seniors, disabled, high school) GoPass Tap card for their DART fare payment will need to get a new card, if you have not already done so.
If you reload your GoPass Tap card at our current retail network stores, then you need to replace your card with one of the new cards by Feb. 25.
If you manage the funds on your card at GoPass.org or by phone, we ask that you exchange your card by May 1, 2023.
Right now, you can exchange your GoPass Tap card at DARTmart, located at Akard Station on the Akard Street side of DART Headquarters. DARTmart is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., excluding holidays. You must enter through the exterior door facing Akard Street.
Starting DATE TBD, riders will be able to get one of the new GoPass Tap cards at select retail locations throughout the DART Service Area. Those locations include some Albertsons, Tom Thumb, Market Street, and many independent convenience stores in the Fidelity Express network.
Your patience is appreciated as we continue to expand our network throughout 2023. Once the new retailers are ready to sell and/or reload the new cards, we will update the list of retail locations on GoPass.org.
DART is trying to reach GoPass Tap card holders to inform you about our new cards and retail network.
If you have already replaced your GoPass Tap card, then you are ready to reload your card at store in our new retail network. If you have not replaced your card yet, be sure to do so by Feb. 25 if you reload your card at our network of retailers.
If you are participating in the Corporate Annual Pass Program or the Higher Education Semester Pass Program, you do not need a new GoPass Tap card. The one you have works on DART's tap card reader system.
Call DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111, Option 1, and the GoPass Tap team will update your GoPass account to transfer the money on your old card to your new tap card number. They will also deactivate your old card so that no one can use it to access your account.
Or you can visit DARTmart, and a staff member will transfer the money from your old card to your new one.
The new GoPass Tap cards have a barcode on the front of the card in the bottom left corner.
The old GoPass Tap cards do not have a barcode on the front, and there is a PayNearMe logo above the magnetic strip on the back of the card.
If you get a new GoPass Tap card at one of our new retail partners, then you must load at least $6 in value onto your new card, but you can use that $6 to pay your DART fares.
If you bring your old card to DARTmart, they will give you a new GoPass Tap card if you have money in your GoPass account. If you have no funds to transfer to the new card, then you must load at least $6 on the new card.
There are multiple ways to add money to your GoPass Tap account:
In person at DARTmart using cash, credit card, or debit card. DARTmart is at DART Headquarters at Akard Station. You must enter from the exterior door facing Akard Street.
Online at GoPass.org using a credit or debit card, either with or without a GoPass account.
On the phone at 214-979-1111, Option 1. Select the "Tap Card" option, and you will be able to add value to your card with a credit or debit card using the interactive system.
DATE TBD - In person at a retailer using cash, credit card, or debit card. There are more stores that can add value to your account than those that also sell GoPass Tap cards.
After Feb. 25, you will not be able to add money to your old card at stores in either DART’s old or new retail network. While you will be able to spend the value that is currently on your GoPass Tap card, you will only be able to add value on GoPass.org by calling 214-979-1111, option 1. We recommend that riders get a new GoPass Tap card as soon as possible.
No, these changes only impact GoPass Tap card users. Contactless Payment users can continue to tap their card or device at the GoPass readers as usual.
You may only store one GoPass Tap card in your GoPass app Payment Methods at a time, so you first must remove your old GoPass Tap card before you can load your new one.
To add a new GoPass Tap card to your account:
If you still have money on your old card, you should call DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111, option 1, or visit DARTmart, and ask them to transfer the money on your old card to your new card.
