Gain inspiration for your next stop when you view the winning pieces of art from the 2019 DART Student Art Contest at Dallas Love Field through Sept. 30. Glass display cases between security and baggage claim at the airport showcase 100 original pieces of artwork from K-12 North Texas students. Participants artistically captured the 2019 theme, "My next stop is ___," and the artwork reflects the artists’ perspective on DART. Sarah Thigpen, as a 9th grader from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, won the Best of Show award in the competition. In addition to a $1,000 cash prize, Thigpen received the honor of seeing her artwork on the exterior of a DART bus. The display is part of Dallas Love Field’s Art Travelers Exhibition, which promotes diversity in the visual arts as well as displays of culture to the traveling public.
