Seniors are invited to “Connect, Create, Contribute” at the Older Americans Information and Health Fair, which will be held on Thursday, May 16, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Centennial Hall in Dallas’ Fair Park.
This year, DART celebrates the 25th anniversary of what has become the one of the largest senior events in North Texas.
Free health screenings, valuable information, games, giveaways, entertainment and social activity are just a few of the reasons to attend. Attendees are encouraged to ride DART’s Green Line to Fair Park Station. Centennial Hall is located just inside the Fair Park gate.
This free, annual event is hosted by DART in partnership with the city of Dallas, Dallas Police Department, Community Council of Greater Dallas/Dallas Area Agency on Aging, Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center, and The Senior Source. Media partners include NBC 5, Telemundo 39, The Dallas Morning News, Al Día, FYI 50+, Seniors Blue Book and Seniorific News.
DART Fares and Passes
A Local Midday Pass (9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) – at $2 each – is the best value for taking DART to the event. Reduced fares also are available for senior citizens ages 65 or older (with a valid DART photo ID), non-paratransit certified persons with disabilities (with valid DART photo ID) and Medicare card holders. Reduced Local Day Passes are only $3 each. Everyone age 15-64 pays regular fare and a Local Adult Day Pass is $6.
Enjoy Level Boarding
The center car of every DART Rail vehicle has a low-floor section for level boarding with the rail platform. DART’s buses have low-floor sections and ramps that deploy for level boarding from the curb.

DART is making major improvements. To create a smoother ride through downtown Dallas and reduce service interruptions, track improvements and rail replacement began March 30 and will last for roughly six months. During that time, DART Rail in downtown Dallas will be discontinued each weekend between Pearl/Arts District Station and West End Station. Separate shuttle routes will be in operation. Thanks for bearing with us as we build a better future for North Texas. DART.org/Plus.
