From virtual story time to online craft ideas for kids, Highland Park offers fun family activities for spring.
Good news for Highland Park residents: the Highland Park Public Library hosts virtual story times twice weekly. Thursdays at 2 p.m., catch the livestreamed Baby Bounce, a storytime designed for infants; Fridays at 10 a.m., it’s Pawsome Tales, featuring singing and stories for all ages. Find the fun at the Friends of Highland Park Facebook page.
Highland Park crafters and do-it-yourselfers also have access to online resources for kids’ crafts, model building, scrapbooking, macramé and more. Use your HP library card number and PIN to check out the Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center.
The town tennis courts opened as of May 1. Whether competing or just playing, Highland Park residents can reserve a court online. For obvious reasons, no lessons or coaching are allowed at this time, and players should observe social distancing and other common-sense health precautions. A maximum of four players can be on each court, and no spectators are allowed. The town also asks that play be restricted to 45 minutes, allowing 15 minutes between sessions. Highland Park residents, be sure to take advantage of the beautiful weather!
