Texas Forever Fest in the Downtown Plano Arts District celebrates the Lone Star State’s diverse culture and independent spirit with live music, food, drink and vendors. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., you’ll find a mechanical bull, line dancing, roper demonstrations, a Texas whiskey tasting, and much more – including Fletcher’s corny dogs. Texas musical favorite Casey Donahew headlines. Saddle up for some family-friendly fun at Haggard Park, right next to the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Deep Ellum Outdoor Market features local vendors and artisans. The event takes place in the perfect neighborhood to showcase local artists, and it does. From 11 a.m.-5 p.m., check out the unique shopping experience on Main Street near the corner of Good Latimer Expressway. It’s a short walk from Deep Ellum Station on the Green Line.

Night of the Mayas: A Musical Tour of the Mayan Culture is Irving Symphony Orchestra’s tribute to one of the most intriguing cultures in history. Accompanied by a multimedia presentation of engrossing images, the concert features one of Gershwin's most colorful scores, and includes the beautiful and soothing sounds of the Texas Guitar Quartet. Experience it at the Irving Arts Center. You can get there on Bus Route 229, departing from Dallas College North Lake Campus Station on the Orange Line.

Dancing Beyond Borders is the latest installment from the amazing Dallas Black Dance Theatre. See three original pieces – Shedding Skin, Tears of War and Spiritual Suite – at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts in Richardson. The venue is just across the plaza from Galatyn Park Station on the Red Line.
