It’s the weekend of what is arguably Dallas’ biggest party – St. Paddy’s Day! Aside from the beloved annual blowout, there are several DARTable theatrical productions to choose from this weekend.

Friday, March 13

The Producers follows the same storyline as the 1967 Mel Brooks film: A Broadway producer and his accountant hatch a scheme to deliberately produce a flop – in the process defrauding the production’s investors. But the play turns out to be a hit. Check out the stage production of the comedy classic through March 29 at The Firehouse Theatre. That’s walkable from Farmers Branch Station on the Green Line.

All’s Fair in Love and Theatre tells the story of actors and other theater types who are engaged in fierce rivalry as they vie to win the Theatre Outstanding Competition. In the process, participants break rules and sabotage their competitors. See the Rover Dramawerks production through March 28 at the Cox Playhouse. The venue is across Haggard Park from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Rumors involves the deputy mayor of New York City, who has had an accident involving a shotgun. His friends help him cover up the incident. The comedy runs through March 29 at Granville Arts Center, right next to Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

Friday, March 13-Saturday, March 14

TheMusic Man is the six-time Tony Award winner that follows a traveling salesman who cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a performance that may not happen. The classic musical has four performances at the Winspear Opera House. You can walk there from Pearl/Arts District Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines.

Saturday, March 14

A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical is the uplifting true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chart-busting, show-stopping American rock icon in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself! Catch the musical at Fair Park's Music Hall. You can take Green Line to Fair Park Station and you're there!

Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival. is the largest St. Patrick’s Parade in the Southwest. The beloved annual tradition draws more than 100,000 revelers and nearly 100 floats. The parade travels south along Greenville from Blackwell Street to SMU Boulevard. Afterwards, stick around to check out all the vendors and exhibitors. Parking is tight, so you’ll definitely want to take DART. Just take the Red, Blue or Orange line to SMU/Mockingbird Station.
