’til Midnight at the Nasher is a great monthly event with live music and film screenings, along with food, drink, and, of course, world-class sculpture. This evening, the musical headliner is the jazz group Cosmic Collective, and the movie is National Treasure. The Nasher Sculpture Center is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines, or from the M-Line Trolley stop at St. Paul St. and Ross Ave.

Mother Play is the regional premiere of a new work by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel. The drama follows the travails of a single mother and her two children, with sharp observations and dark humor throughout. See the Uptown Players’ production through Aug. 30 at Theatre Three – a very short walk from the M-Line Trolley stop at McKinney Ave. and Worthington St.

Eslabon Armado comes to town supporting their album Vibras De Noche II. Catch the regional Mexican group at South Side Ballroom, walkable from Cedars Station on the Red and Blue lines.

Benson Boone performs tonight in support of his album American Heart. The pop singer is at American Airlines Center, served by Victory Station on the Green and Orange lines, as well as by the TRE.
Friday, Aug. 21-Saturday, Aug. 22

Erin Jackson is a fast-rising comedian who has worked as both a performer and a writer for several television and streaming shows. Her album Grudgery debuted on the iTunes comedy chart at No. 1. Catch her act at Punch Line Irving, walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line.
Saturday, Aug. 22

Benise, known as “The Prince of Spanish Guitar,” has released 15 albums in his career, and he performs tonight at the Eisemann Center. That’s right across the plaza from Galatyn Park Station on the Red Line.
