Comedy, one of the region’s favorite festivals, and an awesome bike ride (join us there!) are all on the DARTable bingo card this weekend. Read on to see where DART can take you this warm spring weekend.

Friday, May 15

Sister Act concerns a disco diva who witnesses a murder and is put in protective custody – in a convent, where she disguises herself as a nun. Not surprisingly, she winds up blowing her cover.  Check out the hit Broadway musical through May 31 at The Firehouse Theatre, walkable from Farmers Branch Station on the Green Line.

Big Bird is an immersive performance contrasting the biological with the digital. Part ritual, part theater, this is an ambitious production by the Dead White Zombies. Experience it through May 30 at the Cedars Union, walkable from Cedars Station on the Red Line.

The Avett Brothers & Mike Patton come to Dallas in support of their new album, AVTT/PTTN. See the folk rockers at Winspear Opera House, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.

Friday, May 15-Sunday, May 17

Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival features more than 50 national, regional, and local bands, plus strolling entertainers, buskers, and acrobats. Headliners include George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Tonic, and Blues Traveler. The event takes place in Galatyn Park Urban Center outside of the Eisemann Center – directly next to Galatyn Park Station on the Red Line.

Saturday, May 16

Dallas Bike Ride is a 20-mile social ride and a celebration of cycling and community. Pedal at your own pace and enjoy live music and entertainment. The Finish Festival has food trucks, a beverage garden, and more. DART is proud to be a founding partner with the event. Join us there to ride alongside our team, and stop by to say hello at our booth, where you’ll receive free giveaways! The ride starts and ends at Dallas City Hall. That’s walkable from Akard Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines.

Sunday, May 17

Bobby Lee comes to Dallas on his first tour, The Finally Tour. The comedian, actor, and podcast host is one of comedy’s most unconventional voices – unique, edgy, and bold. See him at the Majestic Theatre, just a few blocks from St. Paul Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines.
