Rob Thomas comes to Irving in support of his new album, All Night Days, and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his first solo album. See the former Matchbox Twenty frontman at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, walkable from the Orange Line’s Irving Convention Center Station.
Always...Patsy Cline explores the friendship between Patsy Cline and Louise Seger, a fan from Houston who first met the singer in 1961. The show features 27 of Patsy Cline's greatest songs, taking you on a musical journey through the country great’s career and life. Experience it through Sept. 14 at the Granville Arts Center. That’s right next to Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.
The 39 Steps is a fast-paced, comedic thriller based on the Alfred Hitchcock film. Spies, murder, and mystery abound, along with oddball characters, daring escapes, and hilarious situations. Check it out through Sept. 26 at Pocket Sandwich Theatre, walkable from Downtown Carrollton Station on the Green Line.

Fumi Abe is a Japanese American comedian who has appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and been a staff writer on The Late Late Show with James Corden and NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! See him at Dallas Comedy Club, an easy walk from the Green Line’s Baylor University Medical Center.

8th Annual Riverfront Jazz Festival is The Black Academy of Arts and Letters' yearly, awesome, three-day festival with a lineup that spans jazz, pop, soul, R&B, and blues. Performers include Anthony Hamilton, Peabo Bryson, Doreen Ketchens, Tank and the Bangas, Kirk Whalum, and more. There is also a stage for promising up-and-comers. Performances take place in the Automobile Building and Centennial Building at Fair Park. Get there by taking the Green Line to Fair Park Station.
Saturday, Aug. 30
Waterloo brings the music, costumes, and high energy of ABBA to Richardson. The show features all-time favorites such as “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Take a Chance on Me.” Take a trip back to the 1970s at the Eisemann Center, right across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.
An Evening with Bernadette Peters and the Plano Symphony Orchestra features selections from great maestros such as Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, and more. Known as one of Broadway’s most critically acclaimed performers, Peters comes to the Meyerson Symphony Center. You can walk there from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.
