It’s one of the biggest weekends of the year in North Texas – the opening of the 24-day State Fair of Texas. The midway! Fried food! Fireworks every night! And that’s just a start. It’s all arrived again, and as always, DART is the best way to get there. You can even save $5 off your admission by using GoPass®. Just get on the Green Line and get to Fair Park Station. Friday, Sept. 26

 

CityLine Live presents live music under the stars at CityLine Plaza. Bring a picnic blanket or grab a patio seat at one of CityLine’s many restaurants to enjoy performances from talented local artists. Friday evening, catch singer-songwriter Carly Carroll. On Saturday, eclectic performer Frankie Wheeler takes the stage. The plaza is a short stroll from CityLine Station on the Red Line (the Orange Line, too, during the fair)

We Call it Ballet: Sleeping Beauty Dance and Light Show is an unusual mix of classical ballet and modern technology, with dancers lighting up the stage in a glittering, kaleidoscopic performance. Experience it at the Irving Arts Center. You can get there on bus route 229, which departs from the Orange Line’s Dallas College North Lake Campus Station.

Matt Maeson has released two albums in his career, most recently Never Had to Leave in 2022. Tonight, he brings his A Harmless & Quiet Living Tour to House of Blues, walkable from West End Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Sleepy Hollow follows the well-known tale of Ichabod Crane and his encounter with the Headless Horseman. See the Company of Rowlett Performers’ production through Oct. 5 at the Plaza Theater in Garland. That’s a short walk from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

 

 

Friday, Sept. 26-Sunday, Sept. 28

Cirque Noir is Troupe Vertigo's gravity-defying, film noir-inspired circus of thrills and chills, set to a jazzy, score performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Prepare to be wowed at the Meyerson Symphony Center, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.

 

 

Saturday, Sept. 27

Carrollton Culture Fest is a day filled with food, live entertainment, and an eclectic celebration of the cultures that make up our community. Previously known as the 0World of Foodies, the event now provides a more expansive cultural experience. Sample authentic international refreshments and enjoy live performances celebrating multiple nationalities. The event is free in Historic Downtown Carrollton, served by the Green Line’s Downtown Carrollton Station.

 

 

Sunday, Sept. 28

 

Uncle Charlie’s R&B Cookout is a celebration of soul with an all-star lineup that includes Babyface, K-Ci Hailey, and El DeBarge, all headed up by R&B icon Charlie Wilson. Take a journey through some of R&B’s most cherished classics at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. That’s walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line.
