The weekend is rich with DARTable performances, an exhibition opening, and even a light festival. Read on to see where DART can take you.

Luminosa: A Festival of Lights is an enchanting, illuminated trail at Texas Discovery Gardens. More than 100 light sculptures blend botanical beauty with fairy-tale magic, plus depictions of the ancient Mayan, Aztec, and Egyptian cultures. There are also interactive photo ops, live performances, food and more. Catch it through March 23. The gardens are easily accessible by Fair Park Station on the Green Line.

Andrea Jin is a stand-up comedian and writer who was born in Shanghai and has lived in Canada and Los Angeles. She won Comedy Album of the Year in 2021 at the Juno Awards. Jin has appeared The Late Late Show with James Corden, was selected as a New Face at the Just for Laugh’s Montreal Festival in 2021, and has performed at several festivals. She performs tonight at the Dallas Comedy Club, walkable from Baylor University Medical Center Station on the Green Line.

& Juliet asks the question: What would happen if Juliet hadn’t ended it all over Romeo? In this musical, she embarks on a fresh start instead. The play features a playlist of iconic pop anthems. You can experience it through Feb. 9 at the Music Hall at Fair Park. That’s a short walk from the Green Line’s Fair Park Station.

Saturday, Feb. 1

Free First Saturdays returns to the Nasher Sculpture Center this Saturday. Look, learn and love your time at the Nasher. Bring the whole crew to create, discover and make new memories together. Each month features a rotating schedule of things to see and do. The Nasher Sculpture Center is walkable from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.

Lost Lands and Sunken Fields, a major exhibition by Haegue Yang (b. Seoul, 1971), opens today at the Nasher Sculpture Center. The exhibition features sprawling installations that draw on both new and older works. Yang’s work draws from multiple modern styles. The Nasher is walkable from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.

Mania – The ABBA Tribute is a joyful celebration of the music of the ’70s hitmakers. You’ll hear all those hits and more at the Majestic Theatre, a few blocks from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines.

She’s Got Soul features the Richardson Symphony’s orchestral grandeur with soulful vocals of R&B singer Capathia Jenkins. She sings everything from Dolly Parton to Adele to Sade, and lots more. See it at the Eisemann Center, just across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.
