Overnight Closure of Coit Road Planned for Thursday, April 18

Coit Road Closure
Posted on Apr 15, 2024 by DART News Release

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has worked with the City of Dallas to secure an overnight closure of Coit Road between Osage Plaza Court and Sugar Cane Way from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 18, to 6 a.m. Friday, April 19. Crews will set beams for a new rail bridge that will be used as part of the DART Silver Line Regional Rail Project.

The two southbound lanes of Coit Road will be closed, while the two northbound lanes will be repurposed as a single northbound lane and a single southbound lane.

Residents and visitors to the Palencia apartment home development will need to use the alternate entrance on the northside of the complex facing Osage Plaza Court.

Once the beams are placed, Archer Western Herzog (AWH), DART’s design-build contractor will restore Coit Road to four lanes of traffic with two north- and two south-bound lanes.

The DART Silver Line is a 26-mile commuter rail that traverses seven North Texas cities (Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson, Plano) between DFW Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano. The regional rail alignment crosses three counties (Collin, Dallas, Tarrant) and will provide service to improve mobility and accessibility across the northern portion of the DART service area. DART Silver Line revenue service is scheduled to begin in late 2025 to early-2026.
