Recently, DART rider Mr. Rudd accidentally left his bike on the rack of the bus at the end of his trip. By the time he remembered it, the bus had taken off.

He spent the whole weekend trying to locate his bike and was feeling very dejected and defeated when he asked DART Police Officer Branch for assistance in the MLK Jr. Station parking lot.

Officer Branch knew the right number to call – DART Lost & Found.

One call to guest services representative TaShonda Dye, who staffs DART’s Lost & Found office, and the bike was located at the DART Northeast Division within 10 minutes.

With that good news, Mr. Rudd was in tears. He was getting back on his feet; the bike was given to him by his case worker to get home from Buckner Station, a three-hour walk from where he lives. Riding the bike helped to get him home and back to work on time.

TaShonda’s quick action and communication allowed her to locate Mr. Rudd’s bike and exemplified her understanding of his situation and needs. She demonstrated DART’s commitment to putting riders first and to providing 5 Star Service.
