ArtsDistrictBlockParty There are plenty of DARTable events going on around town this weekend – from an artsy block party, to a suburban luau, to a Saturday-morning farmer’s market. You’re invited to them all! Check it out: Friday, June 16 The Dallas Arts District is closing the streets for the annual Summer Block Party with Crow Collection of Asian Art, Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Klyde Warren Park. This family-friendly event features live concerts, guided tours, local brews, movie screenings and much more. The block party is free, and it’s a couple of blocks from St. Paul Station.. 'til Midnight at the Nasher presents free, live outdoor concerts featuring the best in regional music talent paired with film screenings in the Nasher Garden. Tonight’s show is a great one, too – Doug Burr takes the stage at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by Sarah Jaffe. The movie at 9 p.m. is La La Land. Wolfgang Puck Catering offers bar services, snacks, and street tacos; Steel City Pops is also on hand with all-natural popsicles in seasonal flavors. The sculpture center is near St. Paul Station. Saturday, June 17 Celebrate the beginning of summer in Downtown Carrollton with The Lava Luau, a family-fun event centered on the square. The summertime kick-off party includes live music, vendors, contests, photo opportunities, festive food and hula dancers! The event is free and runs from 4 to 10 p.m.  It all happens near Downtown Garland Station. Be a part of the International Day of Yoga at Dallas Yoga Fest at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel. It’s a free, all-day event. Guests of all ages (5+) and levels (beginner to master) are invited to join for yoga, meditation, holistic health workshops, an inspiring keynote address, and more. The hotel is right next to Galatyn Park Station. The Marketplace Garland, features fresh produce, baked goods, jams and jellies, unique items from local artisans and more. The event supports Good Samaritans of Garland, and for those interested, donated items of canned and boxed food items will be accepted. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the heart of Garland's historic downtown square – a short walk from Downtown Garland Station.
